Today we visited the Rosetta Roastery. Like us, they are a small company working with small batches of carefully sourced, high quality ingredients. Only, their passion is coffee. They select the best beans from each major coffee growing region every season, and roast them in small batches in their beautiful Diedrich roaster, right here in Cape Town.
Linden, Marianne and I paid Rob and Jono a visit at their Woodstock office to learn a bit about coffee beans, the roasting process, and of course, taste some of their delicious coffee.
It was such a pleasure to meet other people paying so much attention to detail, flavours and quality. And pretty humbling, when we discovered how much there is to learn about coffee, and how little we know.
And of course, we took some samples back with us to the kitchen, to try and pick a favourite for our coffee ice cream. We’ll keep you updated on that score…
Thanks for the coffee, the learning and a fantastic first staff outing, Rosetta!
