Last Christmas was actually a pretty quiet time for us at Creamery HQ. We were only one month old, no one knew who we really were (or what ice cream deliciousness we were capable of), all our suppliers were shut. It was regroup-and-refocus time, after our launch. And while we’re hoping that this Christmas will be a lot busier for us, we’ve learnt from Valentine’s Day, Hallowe’en and Easter that big commercial holidays can be surprisingly business-as-usual for non-commercial, artisanal food producers. Maybe most of our customers are also sick of the over-commercialisation of spiritual occasions??
So we’re not going overboard with the Christmas hard-sell, but rather focusing on what we think will be useful to our customers this festive season:
Limited edition, two litre family-size tubs for extended-family-sized meals
Home and office deliveries
Focusing on our classic flavours, which pair so well with so many other desserts…
…And offering one or two carefully chosen, slighty unexpected and seasonally (read: summer!) appropriate Christmas flavours
But we couldn’t resist the chance to dress Abi up in a Father Christmas suit and take a couple fun pics for our social media avatars, and some pretty cool fridge magnets to gift to our best customers and fellow suppliers.
I guess we’re not totally immune to The Silly Season, after all.
